I was listening to a radio interview with Mike Nicol and Micheal Robotham in July back home in South Africa and I heard them mention how they sometimes get ideas for their novels from current affairs. Today something has been reported in my home country that made me think, "this is what they were talking about".
I've added a little background information for you and then went on to the current article and would love for you to tell me, can you smell a crime novel in here or what? Bearing in mind that this entire saga already feels like a work of fiction to me.
Until last year we, in South Africa, had a King of
Teaze Sleaze (depending on who's doing the talking) and that was Lolly Jackson shown below. Lolly was a very well known figure in Johannesburg's limelight, what with an overly successful line of strip-clubs called Teazers and penchant for fast cars (amongst his $12 mil worth collection is an Aston Martin, Lambourgini, Ferrari), you name it if it is fast its there and we all know about it.
