Distraction and A Bakers Dozen: JL Campbell

Posted by Wendy Ewurum  |  at  5:46 PM

JL Campbells been busy ladies and gentleman. As is her form, she's weaved another splendid tale......
This is what JL has to say about her new books.

---------------------------------------------------

Throughout our lifetime we’ll have many relationships—some good, some bad, some we can do without and some we can’t. Distraction takes a look at various types of relationships. Chief of these is the friendship shared by the main characters; then there are the connections with boyfriends, spouses and family members.

Dionne enters an extra-marital relationship because of financial need. Kyra gets stuck in a rut with a man who does more harm than good in her life, and Justine is in a deteriorating marriage. However, she fears the effect that leaving her husband will have on her daughter. On top of that, she’s concerned about her beau’s situation.

So many times, women stay in a marriage at the expense of happiness. We think about how breaking up will affect our family, what the neighbours will say and figure it’s just too hard to start over. We sometimes take decisions, forgetting the importance of peace of mind to our wellbeing.

In Distraction, wonderful things happen once the women take charge of their circumstances. A few devastating things also take place. Through it all, Dionne, Justine and Kyra have one constant in their lives—their friendship.
I invite you to download a complimentary copy of A Baker’s Dozen: Thirteen Steps to Distraction from Smashwords. In this prequel, you’ll meet Dionne, Kyra and Justine a year before Distraction takes place. I hope you’ll like this taste of friendship and things Jamaican.

At the end of this Friendship tour (and this is my final stop) there’ll be a main prize of a Distraction note book & pen and a $10 Amazon gift card. The second prize is a paperback copy of Distraction. Sign up for that at the Rafflecopter here.

Wendy, many thanks for hosting.

About the Author

Most know me as the author to Fabulosity Reads and in actual fact, that is the previous name of this blog. I have since then moved my books to a Wordpress self-hosted blog so that I can have a place to show a different side of me which I am equally passionate about and that is marketing and personal development. I hope you will love being here, watching me grow as I share and learn. My highest hope is that we will grown and learn together in all disciplines affecting our lives. I'd LUUURRRVE to hear from you, so don't be shy...

  4. Hello Joy and Wendy. Joy, I'm sorry I couldn't visit as much as I'd have like to, but life is crazy in my neck of the woods, as everywhere. Now you really need to have a little lie down after your hectic world tour.
Thanks for hosting our fab Jamaican friend, Wendy. I hope things are going well for you too!

  7. Hi JL. Thank you for graciously forgiving my late arrival. I'm in the process of lining up books for my new book club with some staff members from the university of johannesburg. We have our first meeting for a book that I'm ashamed to even admit having to read. Anything to encourage reading right. I'm sure you don't have to stretch your imagination far to guess the title.Lol.
So I thought I'd love for our next book to be a real book, so is your free download still available and if yes please send code.
I'll make sure reviews are done and posted. The group on Facebook will be called SA Girls Read.

Wendy, yes, I think I know which book you're talking about. I know everybody and her mother has read it, lol. Yes, the book is still free on Smashwords. Go here ==> to download. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/214981
I'll keep it free until the end of Tuesday if that helps you.

    Happy reading!
