Writing takes time, practice and dedication. Over time your vocabulary will increase by making you a better writer.  An accomplished writer is capable of creating tighter sentences that benefits your reader by presenting clearer and concise information.
A little revision will improve the quality of your blog articles.  Blogs are becoming increasingly popular and the demand for quality content raises. It is important we make our best efforts to deliver quality.

Spend time planning your article
An architect must plan well before construction can begin. A good writer will jot down ideas on what he or she is trying to say. Planning the main key points in your blog articles will lead you towards success. Making notes keeps your mind focused and adds clarity to your articles.

Research your ideas
Successful writers are keen readers. Bloggers must read various blogs to continue educating themselves. Research and planning go hand in hand. The more knowledgeable you are on your niche, the better your content will be.

Add value to your writing
How much value are you giving your readers? Successful bloggers consistently write to solve problems.  Focus your efforts on developing content that helps people.  There are many ways to add extra value by providing: a video, an audio recording or adding an interactive opinion polls into your article.
One of the most important questions to ask yourself when writing is:
“How is my content going to help people and how much value can I provide?”

Is my content easy to digest?
Content that is broken down into small manageable paragraphs accompanied by: lists; headings; subheadings; images and diagrams will be a pleasure to read.  Reading in front of a computer is much different than a book or newspaper. Make reading online easy and enjoyable.

Use a thesaurus
A thesaurus is a great companion for any writer.  When writing an article, think of alternative words that can be applied into your articles.  The thesaurus is an excellent method of expanding your vocabulary.  Good writers are constantly looking for ways to improve their vocabulary.  The more words you can use, the tighter and more concise your writing will become.

Write grappling headlines
A catchy headline will grab your attention. Focus on grab the reader’s attention.  Notice how certain words serve a stronger purpose and make us take action.
Try these attention seeking words in your headlines:
  • Free
  • Instant
  • Guaranteed
  • How to
  • Save
  • Money
  • Wealth
  • Best-Selling
  • Secret
  • Step-by-step
  • Discover
Proof read your content
The best way to notice mistakes is to take a break for a few hours and revisit your article. A fresh mind provides a writer with a new focus plus it is easier to find those errors.  Proof read your writing until you’re happy with your work. There is nothing worse for your readers to comment on your errors.

Write quality articles
A good writer will not rush their work. Great bloggers are known for developing the best information possible. A good blogger should spend at least two hours minimum on any article.  A successful article is like a good wine it needs time to mature and develop. Rushing your writing will lead to mistakes and could affect your reputation as writer.
Make sure you’ve proof read the article again before hitting that “publish” button.

What is the “call to action?”
Articles written on the web and especially blogs require some call to action. Depending on your message, it could be:
  • Download a product or service
  • Sign up to membership site or newsletter
  • Fill in a contact form
Your call to action will help your readers know what to do next. You’ve spent all this time carving out a wonderful article you want some type of action.  The last thing you want is to lose your new reader after they have read this far. Give a reader an opportunity to do something.
There you have it some tips to become a writing wizard. Blogging requires a lot of attention to detail and if you follow these guidelines you’ll do well.

How have ou been doing with your writing?
Do you every find yourself floundering for what to right? how do you get over it?
